Transportadora de Gas del Sur S.A. (tgs) informs that— within the framework of the Public Hearing summoned by ENARGAS— it has presented its proposal for the adjustment of the natural gas transportation service Tariff Charts.

tgs requested a tariff adjustment to be implemented in two stages: the first involves an 80% transition increase, effective as from March 1, 2022, and a second stage that will entail a 25% transition tariff increase, effective as from September 1 of the same year. Both increases are to be applied on the natural gas transportation service tariff.

It is worth mentioning that the cost of the natural gas transportation service in average Metrogas’ residential bills accounts for around 12% of the total amount, whereas the rest of the bill corresponds to the cost of gas, distribution margins and taxes.

As far as Metrogas is concerned, a Residential User of the R.1 Category, whose average consumption is of 220 m3 per year, currently pays a monthly average of $48 related to gas transportation, not including taxes. In the first stage, the implementation of the proposed transitory adjustment represents a $ 38 average monthly increase corresponding to transportation services, whereas in the second stage it amounts to a $ 22 average monthly increase, excluding taxes.

This lower consumption category accounts for 50% of Metrogas’ total Residential Users.

Regarding investments, tgs keeps making significant efforts for the execution of the works required to ensure the transportation system’s reliability and safety. In spite of the tariff freeze enforced by the Emergency Law of Social Solidarity and Productive Reactivation, tgs foresees to close the five-year period comprised between April 2017 and March 2022, with an investment of around $ 36,200 MM, restated as of December 2021.

Regardless of the complications presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, it should be emphasized that tgs continued rendering its services without interruptions, in a reliable and safe manner, through the implementation of several preventive measures, always setting as top priorities its employees’, community’s, suppliers’ and contractors’ health as well as the reliability of the public transportation service.
