Construction progresses on the expansion of the Perito Moreno Gas Pipeline
• The energy company began construction work on the Perito Moreno Gas Pipeline and the main pipelines of its regulated system, which will allow the addition of 14 MMm3/day of natural gas transport capacity from Vaca Muerta.
• At the same time, it has already launched open tenders to award the new incremental capacity to users interested in contracting it.
In October 2025, TGS was awarded the contract in the national and international tender issued by ENARSA, at the instruction of the Secretariat of Energy, to carry out the expansion of the Perito Moreno Gas Pipeline, which will add a transport capacity of 14 MMm3/d.
TGS has already begun construction of the works, which will be operational by the winter of 2027. These works include the installation of three new plants along the pipeline route, plus an additional compressor unit at the existing plant in Tratayén, totaling 90,000 HP of power. The new plants will be located in the towns of Casa de Piedra, Doblas, and Chacharamendi, all in the Province of La Pampa.
In parallel, and to enable the additional gas received in Salliqueló to supply Greater Buenos Aires and the North of the country, TGS is developing a project to expand its regulated transportation system by 12 MMm3/d of additional capacity. This involves installing 20 km of pipeline parallel to the main line and adding 15,000 HP to the Neuba III Gas Pipeline, which will also undergo modifications to operate at higher pressures.
On February 9, the energy company launched two open tenders for firm transportation services for the new capacity in the Greater Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (GPM) (14 MMm3/d from Tratayén to Salliqueló) and in the regulated system (12 MMm3/d from Salliqueló to Greater Buenos Aires).
Those interested in contracting firm transportation services can consult the Terms and Conditions of the tender on the company’s website, www.tgs.com.ar.
