Production and commercialization of natural gas liquids

We are leaders in the production and commercialization of natural gas liquids: ethane, propane, butane and natural gasoline.

These activities are conducted at our facilities located in the city of Bahía Blanca: our Cerri Complex —where natural gas liquids are processed— and Puerto Galvan Plant —where products are stored and dispatched-.

Cerri Complex

The process by means of which natural gas liquids are extracted consists basically in the refrigerated expansion of natural gas. The process by means of which natural gas liquids are extracted consists basically in the refrigerated expansion of natural gas. To such purposes, we have three cryogenic liquid separation trains. Besides, the Complex has two refrigerated absorption liquid separation trains.

After liquids have been extracted, they are fractionated and sent to storage for their later commercialization both in the local and exports markets.

Puerto Galván

Local dispatch of products is conducted by means of poliducts and tanker trucks, whereas the dispatch to the exports market may be done either by land or by sea. For land dispatch, we have 6 truck load islands that allow the dispatch of up to 85 trucks per day.

This positioning derives from three key factors:

  • A privileged location, with access to Puerto Galvan Terminals 1, 2 and 3.
  • The availability of loading facilities for trucks and poliducts, which facilitates operations among the plants of the Petrochemical Pole.
  • The availability of storage facilities for refrigerated or pressurized products (environment).

Among the main services we render to third parties, it is worth mentioning:

  • Natural Gas Processing/ Products Commercialization.
  • Storage/ Reception and Dispatch of trucks and tanker vessels.
  • LPG Refrigeration and Heating.

On the other hand, for dispatch by sea we use terminals 1, 2 and 3, from where our own and third parties’ LPG and gasoline tanker ships are annually dispatched.

Puerto Galván Plant features enable it to render storage, reception and dispatch services.

This positions TGS as a leader in the rendering of logistic services within the Petrochemical Pole.
