TGS

TGS has completed critical expansion works in Vaca Muerta.

The energy company has completed works on its two main assets in Vaca Muerta. Through an investment of USD 100 million, it extended its Vaca Muerta Norte pipeline by 32 km and expanded the conditioning capacity of the Tratayén Plant.

TGS has completed the extension of its gathering pipeline by 32 km, from the Los Toldos I Sur area to El Trapial, consolidating a 183 km network of pipelines in Vaca Muerta.

Additionally, the company has started operating two Joule Thomson plants, which have increased the gas conditioning capacity at the Tratayén Plant from 7.6 MMm³/day to 15 MMm³/day.

Through these comprehensive services, more gas from Vaca Muerta can now reach the transportation and distribution systems that supply Argentine industries and households, while natural gasoline is extracted, adding value for the gas producers operating in Vaca Muerta.

With this, TGS continues its investment project in Vaca Muerta, which began in 2018, solidifying its position as the leading integrated services company in the basin. TGS provides solutions to producers at the wellhead, facilitating the delivery of Vaca Muerta gas to major consumption centers.

“We are very proud to continue expanding TGS’s operations in Vaca Muerta, reaffirming that the investments made since 2018 provide an efficient solution for producers by addressing the transportation and conditioning of production, while adding value to natural gas.”

It is worth noting that TGS has already begun new works for the installation and commissioning of two additional gas conditioning plants, which will allow, by 2024, to double the current capacity of its Tratayén Plant, reaching a total of 28 million m³/day. The technology of the two new Propak plants will enable, in the future, large-scale gas processing operations in the heart of the Neuquén Basin.

“We have an expansion project for our Tratayén Plant scheduled for 2024, which is on track. We will support the development of Vaca Muerta in a modular fashion, providing more and better services to producers.”
