TGS Completes Essential Expansion Works in Vaca Muerta

The energy company has completed construction on its two main assets in Vaca Muerta. Through a USD 100 million investment, it extended its Vaca Muerta Norte gas pipeline by 32 km and expanded the conditioning capacity of the Tratayén Plant.

TGS concluded the construction to extend its gas collection pipeline by 32 km, from the Los Toldos I Sur area to El Trapial, consolidating a network of 183 km of pipelines in Vaca Muerta.

Additionally, it has started operating two Joule Thomson plants that increase the current gas conditioning capacity at the Tratayén Plant from 7.6 MMm3/day to 15 MMm3/day.

Through these comprehensive services, more gas from Vaca Muerta can reach the transportation and distribution systems that supply Argentine industries and homes, while also extracting natural gasoline, adding value to the gas-producing companies operating in Vaca Muerta.

Thus, TGS continues its investment project in Vaca Muerta, which began in 2018, solidifying itself as the leading integrated services company in the basin, offering solutions to producers at the wellhead and enabling the production of Vaca Muerta gas to reach major consumption centers.

"We are very proud to continue expanding TGS operations in Vaca Muerta, reaffirming that the investments made since 2018 are an efficient solution for producers, addressing the transportation and conditioning of production and adding value to natural gas," said Oscar Sardi, CEO of TGS.

It is worth noting that TGS has already begun new works for the installation and commissioning of two new gas conditioning plants that will, by 2024, double the current capacity of its Tratayén Plant to reach a total of 28 million m3/day. The technology of the two new Propak plants will enable the future availability of gas processing business at scale in the heart of the Neuquén Basin.

"We have an expansion project for our Tratayén Plant planned for 2024 that we are fulfilling. We will modularly support the development of Vaca Muerta and provide more and better services to producers," affirmed Oscar Sardi, CEO of TGS.
